NEW ROOF, STUCCO REMEDIATION, AND STONE VENEER WEST GROVE PA
We were able to do a complete home exterior remodeling project for this homeowner in West Grove PA. As experienced Amish roofing contractors, we offer a wide range of exterior remodeling and repair services. For this project we replaced the roof, performed stucco remediation and replaced the stucco with new vinyl siding, added stone veneer accents to the front of the home and the entire chimney, we installed new garage doors on the 2-car garage as well as an overhang to help channel water away from the foundation, constructed a new front entryway for the front door, built a new 2-part deck on the back of the house, and were able to replace a number of windows on the home.

AMISH ROOFING CONTRACTORS REPAIR ROOF DAMAGE UNDER OLD ROOF
We discovered some areas of water damage on the roof as we removed the old, worn-out shingles. After we repaired the areas of roof decking that were rotting we installed a brand new shingle roof. This included new flashing around the vents and chimney as well as a new drip edge. FULL STUCCO REMEDIATION FROM AMISH ROOFING CONTRACTORS SMUCKER’S EXTERIORS
Stucco remediation is a very common service that we happily provide to many homeowners in Pennsylvania. Stucco is one of the most common home exterior materials that you have probably seen on many homes and may even have on your own home. Underlying water damage is a big problem that homes with stucco exteriors face in PA. Stucco does not do the best job of protecting homes in climates like ours in Pennsylvania with prominent winters and often very wet fall and spring seasons. Stucco is a much better home exterior coating for homes in drier, warmer climates like Arizona or Texas.
In PA, water and moisture from different seasons can get in behind the stucco exterior and begin to cause a lot of damage to the home. If left unchecked over years the water damage can begin to affect the structure of the home itself. If you have a stucco exterior, as this customer did, you may want to consider whether or not your home has unseen water damage behind its exterior.
At Smucker’s Exteriors, whenever we get into a stucco remediation project we have a multi-step process to correct damages. First, we remove the existing problem stucco, repair any water damage that has taken place underneath, install a protective barrier to prevent future water damage, and finally install a better, more protective exterior product like James Hardie Fiber Cement siding that will hold up against the Pennsylvania climate.
As you look through these pictures you can see how we were able to uncover the underlying issues caused by the stucco exterior. The HydroGap house wrap we use to cover up the walls of the house after we repaired the damage can easily be seen as well.
We use the HydroGap house wrap because it creates an extra barrier between the walls of the home and the elements. Our favorite house wrap features these tiny little beads that will channel any moisture that does somehow find its way behind the siding. This helps to ensure that the actual walls of the home are not damaged by any moisture or water in the future. We love this house wrap product and use it anytime we do stucco remediation and siding replacement.
Once the stucco remediation was complete we installed the new fiber cement siding. This really updated the appearance of the home and gave it a fresh new look. Not only that, James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding is sealed with exterior paint to protect it from the elements and it holds up very well here in PA. It’s a product that we believe in and our customers always love the way it looks on their homes!
We built a beautiful new entryway for this homeowner’s front door and installed a new exterior front door for them. This really enhanced the home’s appearance and added an inviting element to the front walkway.
We installed stone veneer accents on the front of the home as well. Now when we do stone veneer we first apply the Hydro Gap house wrap, then a special screen that the stone veneer attaches to. These two underlying layers serve as added protection for the home against future water damage. Both the house wrap and the weep screen we applied on top of it will channel water or moisture that could otherwise threaten the home’s integrity.
You can tell from these job site pictures that we did a lot of work on the back of the home as well. We completely rebuilt their deck. They added hosting space to their original deck with a second section and a beautiful pergola. The homeowners were able to bring new beauty and functionality to their deck by making these upgrades during the project. With these updates, they added a very modern appeal to their home’s appearance as well as added a gorgeous and relaxing deck to enjoy time with family and friends.
