We had the privilege of performing a major exterior overhaul for a home in Kennett Square, PA. This comprehensive project addressed everything from stucco remediation and window replacement to a complete refresh of the home's ventilation and drainage systems. By combining premium CertainTeed Monogram siding with high-performance Paradigm windows and doors, we have provided this property with a beautiful, low-maintenance exterior that is built for long-term durability and energy efficiency.
The Full Scope of Work
This renovation involved a total transformation of the home's protective shell, integrating high-end materials and precision installation techniques.
- Siding Remediation & Installation:
- Full removal of the existing stucco siding and house wrap down to the foundation.
- Installation of advanced Henry house wrap with all seams taped for a superior moisture barrier.
- Installation of premium CertainTeed Monogram vinyl siding in a stock color.
- Addition of flashing on the bottom of all windows to prevent future rotting.
- Comprehensive Window Overhaul (25 Units):
- Removal and disposal of 25 existing windows.
- Installation of 21 Paradigm new construction windows, including 19 single units, 1 twin unit, and 1 specialized unit with a roundtop.
- Installation of 4 Paradigm 8300 Series basement slider windows.
- Basement window frames were finished with a smooth white aluminum wrap for a clean look and added protection.
- All new windows were insulated and caulked to maximize the home's energy performance.
- Premium Exterior Doors:
- Removal of the old patio door and installation of a new Paradigm 8390 series patio slider door.
- Installation included a specialized sill pan with metal and flashing tape to provide maximum protection for the door sill.
- New 2 1/4" interior trim was installed to provide a finished look inside the home.
- Custom Composite Trim:
- Installation of Azek composite trim around 23 windows and 2 doors for a maintenance-free, rot-resistant finish.
- The trim was fastened using the Cortex screw and cap system for a seamless, "no-hole" appearance.
- Existing garage door trim was replaced with new Azek composite material and fresh weather stripping.
- Fascia, Soffits & Gutters:
- Removal of existing fascia and soffits to install new CertainTeed Invisavent Triple 3 1/3" white vented soffits.
- Installation of smooth white aluminum fascia and rake boards.
- Installation of 5" heavy .032 gauge seamless white gutters with 2x3 downspouts and elbows.
- Gutters were given a proper drainage slope and secured with heavy-gauge wide flange aluminum hidden hangers.
