New Siding, Stone Veneer, Roof and more for Home in Kennett Square PA - 2507

Introduction

This project focused on a complete exterior renovation to improve the home's durability and aesthetic appeal. By upgrading to James Hardie fiber cement siding and Paradigm windows, we aimed to enhance the property's energy efficiency and curb appeal. The renovation included meticulous attention to detail in all phases, especially adding large sections of stone veneer to the front of the home.

Work Performed

• Siding Replacement: Removed existing stucco, installed James Hardie HardiePlank 7" Cedarmill fiber cement siding with Henry house wrap and Azek outside corners. Excludes fascia, soffits, rake, and gutters.
• Window Installation: Installed 24 Paradigm new-construction windows with Low-E, argon-filled glass. Features include bullnose sills and 2 1/4" casing.
• Door Upgrades: Installed Azek composite trim around all windows and doors on the front of the house.
• Porch Cover Construction: Built a new porch cover using 2x6 rafters, Azek post sleeves, standing seam metal roof, matching soffits, and aluminum-wrapped beam.
• Stone Veneer Restoration: Installed stone veneer on specified sections using proper rainscreen techniques.
• Roofing: Removed existing shingles; installed Certainteed Landmark shingles with new drip edge, synthetic felt paper, ice & water shield, and ridge vent for attic airflow.
• Gutters: Installed 5" seamless gutters with downspouts using hidden hangers.

Results

The renovation resulted in a beautifully updated exterior that enhances both the functionality and appearance of the home. The use of James Hardie siding provides long-lasting protection against weather elements while maintaining a sleek look. The newly installed windows improve energy efficiency and aesthetics.
